Cocobolo is a tropical hardwood from Central America. It is typically orange or reddish-brown in color, often with a figuring of darker irregular traces weaving through the wood.
Cocobolo is an oily timber with a strong, unmistakable floral odor when worked. Stands up well to repeated handling and exposure to water, very hard, fine textured and dense.

Easily machined, though due to the high content of natural oils, the wood tends to clog abrasives quickly, Cocobolo can be polished to a lustrous, glassy finish.
