Ocote Pine Fire Sticks are 100% natural fire starters and are extremely useful for lighting fires outdoors or equally in a fireplace, bbq, or chiminea.

All you have to do is hold a flame to a piece of the wood and it will catch fire immediately. Fat wood is forested from the Ocote Pine tree (Pinus Oocarpa) which grows in Guatemala. When a tree blows down, or after a natural forest fire, the roots of the Ocote Pine tree carry on producing sap, thereby saturating the trunk with resin. As a result, the wood becomes highly flammable. The Mayan people were aware of this and used the wood to start their fires for thousands of years.
