It was designed for law enforcement, military and outdoorsmen who require compact cutting power. The Ontario / RAT knife line bridges the gap between economy, toughness, and real-world features. Ontario knives are designed in the field and built to be used in the field. No bells and whistles, just straight forward cutlery that works, whether it's in the middle of a jungle or the blazing sun of the desert. RAT knives are used and carried by outdoorsmen and military professionals worldwide, including U.S. Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, and by individual agents in most every agency within the United States Government. The RAT-3 features a molded Blade-Tech sheath. The sheath easily integrates with a Blade-Tech drop holster or can be adapted in the field to fit other rigs commonly used within the military and law enforcement communities. The sheath comes standard with two types of retention devices: a TekLok and a Boot Clip and can be carried in left or right-hand mode. The sheath can also be stripped of retention devices and carried as a neck knife. The RAT-3 also follows the other RAT designs using Micarta slabbed ergonomic handles and full flat grind for excellent slicing and cutting efficiency.
