A pair of Selected Rippled / Fiddleback Sycamore Knife Handle Scales.

Sycamore was introduced in to Britain in the middle ages and is the largest of the European Maples. It is a plain but attractive timber with a white / cream colour which darkens to a golden tone.

About one in a thousand trees are said to have these classic "fiddleback" markings. We have a limited quantity of these boards that came from Helsby Hill in Cheshire, England.

Sycamore is easily worked and takes an excellent finish.

Typical moisture content around 10%

Minimum size 10mm x 44mm x 135mm
