Robinia often known as false acacia has been transplanted successfully to British soil. The boards we have are from a tree grown in Cheshire UK. The heartwood is light yellow green to brown-green in colour. When it is exposed to light it turns to a golden brown. If the wood is steamed it turns to dark brown. Robinia wood is tough and long lasting and said to be the most durable wood that grows in our climate.
