This Web-Tex Maya Dust makes lighting a fire really easy. Use it with a flint and steel firestarter to create that first lick of flame and you’re away. It is ideal for various outdoor activities, and as a back-up fire starting aid in case of emergencies.

Maya Dust is made from wood shavings taken from Pino de Ocote, a fatwood pine cultivated in the highlands of Guatemala and Mexico. This was the area occupied by the Mayan Empire, hence the name Maya Dust. The Pino de Ocote is naturally rich in resin (80%) and so shavings from it are very easy to light and produce a very hot flame.

Maya Dust comes in a handy, lightweight, waterproof container. Measuring only 70 mm by 15 mm and weighs only 28 grams (1oz), so is very small and compact and will take up very little room in your rucksack. It is also very easy to use.

Lighting a fire with a flint and steel firestarter can be difficult, especially when you have never tried it before, but with few shavings of Web-Tex Maya Dust you will find that creating that first flame will be very easy.
